Rad's flagship - the epitome of Rad Estate's individuality -
The three different soils - red volcanic soil, whitish river deposit soil, and a mixture of clay and sand - produce the diverse individuality of the varieties. Organically grown. Using several types of fermentation tanks, the wine develops fascinating aromas such as forest incense, pencil lead, menthol, and Chinese spices, and has a mid-to-full body with surprising freshness. The finely-refined tannins leave a lingering impression of spice. Aged for 22 months in French barrels (58% new barrels).
Vintage Information
Following the excellent 2018 VTG, 2019 was also an excellent year. There was plenty of rain in the winter, a mild spring and summer, and several heat waves, but the end of the summer was cool, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and have a long growing season. Harvesting began on September 25th and was waited until the latter half of October according to the characteristics of each plot, resulting in wonderful color, power, and rich tannins.
