The grapes are from Profile Estate Vineyard, located east of St. Helena. They are hand-picked at night to be put into the cellar in the freshest state early in the morning. Aged for 23 months in Tronçais French barrels (80% new barrels). Unfiltered and unfined. This wine has a fragrant herb, chocolate, roasted aroma and crushed cherry aroma. In the mouth, it has a slightly tense and delicate approach, and the complex and beautifully soft tannins form its dignity. We recommend decanting when young, and it can be expected to age for the next 30 years.
Vintage Information
Abundant rainfall in February kept the soil moist. Bud burst and flowering were slightly delayed, but fruit set was even and abundant. The absence of extreme weather, including a mild summer without major heat waves and an autumn with long hours of sunshine and moderate heat, allowed the grapes to gradually increase in sugar content and accumulate phenols. The long growing season allowed the grapes to reach peak ripeness at harvest. An ideal vintage for winemakers

Tasting Comments
It has a silky mouthfeel and rich fruitiness, and is elegant. It is fresh, tense, deep, complex, and has a long finish. It is impressive with its aromatic elements of baking spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves, black fruits, leather, and cocoa, and its rich mouthfeel. It is full-bodied but not heavy, and the freshness brought by the natural acidity is well balanced with the firm structure and fine mountain tannins. It is a wine that can be enjoyed now or can be enjoyed as it ages for more than 25 years.
