A blend of 81% grapes from our own vineyards and 19% from neighboring Richardson Vineyard.

The grapes from Richardson Vineyards are now of such high quality that other wineries have released wines bearing their names.

The 2022 wine features aromas of dark raspberry, pomegranate, orange peel and black trumpet mushroom.

The flavor is young but well-balanced, with just the right amount of acidity to whet the appetite.

Andy Pei started his career as a financial analyst on Wall Street, but then aspired to become a chef, but discovered wine. He worked at Schramsberg and La Jota, and later joined his brother Nick, who studied winemaking at UC Davis, in an effort to create wine that would express the local climate. In 1996, they purchased a vineyard in Annapolis on the Sonoma Coast.

Nick then continued his training at Flowers and Cold Stream Hills in Australia.

Vanessa Wong, who had worked in Burgundy and Bordeaux before serving as assistant winemaker at Peter Michael, joined the team in 2001 (she married Nick the following year), and the team began to make more serious wines, producing wines of excellent quality in Sonoma's coolest region.

The area around our own fields was formed by the uplift of strata that were once the seabed, and many fossils of shellfish and other marine life can be found here.

Their grape cultivation, which values the ecosystem of the fields, boasts high quality that is on par with Retry.

Andy currently serves as President of West Sonoma Coast Vintners, an organization dedicated to promoting the benefits of the newly recognized West Sonoma Coast AVA and the unique character of the area.
