Aged 22 months in French barrels (65% new barrels). Hexameter refers to the cadence of the epic poem used by Ovid in "Metamorphoses." Named with the aim of creating an epic story with the "deeply flavorful and attractive Cabernet Franc" from our own vineyards. It has a vivid aroma of pomegranate, forest undergrowth, black fruit, violets, and sage, and has a luxurious taste of blackberry, blueberry, and mocha, resulting in a well-balanced finish.
Vintage Information
In 2019, there was sufficient rainfall during the winter, and like 2017, the soil retained water until spring. Although budbreak was slightly delayed due to the cool spring, temperatures in June and July generally exceeded 27°C, providing ideal weather for the vines.
Relatively mild heat continued in August, allowing the grapes to ripen gently and gently, allowing us to proceed carefully to harvest.
The harvest took place from October 7th to 18th.
Tasting Comments
Notes of plum, cherry and boysenberry combine with aromas of rhubarb pie, lavender, sage and forest floor.
It has a perfect balance of deep purple fruit flavors, vitality and power, and has the potential to withstand long aging.
Reflecting the excellent 2019 vintage, it has perfectly balanced power and elegance.
