Aged 2/3 in French barrels, 1/3 in stainless steel tanks for about 9 months. This wine will make you feel like you're on a tropical beach. It has aromas of pineapple, mango, and lime peel with tropical flowers and roasted macadamia nuts and other attractive spices. It has a creamy mouthfeel with plenty of fruit and a clean acidity.
Vintage Information
Buds began to sprout in Carneros and the mountain AVAs in March, and by May the vines were vigorously growing new shoots, with color beginning to change in early July. August had warm days and cool nights, perfect for the grapes to ripen. Hot weather continued into early September, and leaves were carefully removed to protect the grapes from the strong morning and afternoon sun, and to help the fruit retain its acidity and freshness. A little rain fell afterwards, but the leaves were removed to allow air circulation, preventing disease and allowing healthy fruit to be harvested. Cooler weather returned, allowing for a longer growing season. (Excerpt from Napa Valley Vintners' Vintage Information)

Tasting Comments
The aromas of lime peel, mango and minerals mingle with the taste of mandarin and white peach, which spreads throughout the mouth, becoming juicy yet gradually richer. It maintains a great tension until the finish, which is fresh, powerful, and reminiscent of flint and salt.
