Sourced from multiple vineyards managed by Silverado Farming Company. The 2019 vintage is a blend of six vineyards from three AVAs: Coombsville, Oak Knoll, and St. Helena. Aged 20 months in French barrels (50% new barrels). Beautiful red fruit and fresh strawberry aromas with hints of violets and creme de cassis, accentuated by excellent acidity and tannin strength. Mid to full-bodied, very supple on the palate, with dark chocolate, black cherry, and vanilla flavors and a long finish. A finish that you can enjoy with a meal that you will never tire of.
Tasting Comments
The wine has fruity nuances of fragrant blackberry, deep purple prunes, and creme de cassis, as well as a graphite impression.
Although full-bodied, it is very supple on the palate, with rich flavors of ripe black fruits and hints of tobacco leaves and forest aromas on the nose.
Well balanced with a mild acidity, the juiciness spreads throughout the mouth, leaving a grand, long aftertaste and the potential for long bottle aging.
A finish that can be enjoyed with meals.
Field Information
▼Main fields used by La Pelle (Only fields managed by Silverado Farming Company are used.)
Lambert Vineyards/Coombsville AVA
Located in the southeast of Napa Valley, at the foot of the Vaca Mountains, the 2.4-hectare vineyard has shallow, rocky topsoil and benefits from the morning mists and cool afternoon breezes that blow in from San Pablo Bay, allowing the sugar and phenol content to ripen slowly.
Two vineyards in the St. Helena AVA (not open to the public)
The famous vineyards are located on the southeast and southwest corners of the city, and the alluvial soil containing stones from the Napa River and the large temperature changes between morning and evening create ideal growing conditions for Bordeaux grape varieties. The thick skins produce excellent tannins.
Red Hen Vineyards/Oak Knoll AVA
Located just north of Napa, at the foot of Mount Veeder, the alluvial soil, rich in rocks and gravel, keeps the vines in check, while the proximity to the bay and the cool breezes produce elegant, delicate fruit flavors.
The 2019 vintage was a blend of six vineyards located in Coombsville, Oak Knoll and St. Helena, bringing together the character of the vintage.
