Aged in French barrels. A wine blended from three of the company's own vineyards. The wine was named Ten Degrees because there is a difference of about 10 degrees Fahrenheit in temperature between Narrows, located in the northernmost part of Anderson Valley (cool), Gowan Creek, located in the center (slightly warmer), and Confluence, located in the northernmost part (warmer). The difference in temperature creates a rich, deep wine.

The company's 80-hectare fields, which have different growing environments, are divided into 96 blocks and cultivated using 49 different combinations of clones and rootstocks.

We prepare more than 100 different lots.

From these, Goldeneye's top cuvée is made using only the best lots.

Vintage Information

2019 is the most exceptional vintage in GoldenEye's 30-year history.

A dry winter and cool, wet spring delayed budbreak, but ideal, warm weather followed over the summer, resulting in even berry set and veraison.

After a long growing season, warm weather continued throughout the harvest, which began on September 4th and ended on October 15th, allowing all blocks to reach ideal maturity before being harvested.

The long growing season and favourable weather allowed us to create a blend of many excellent lots.

The result is a complex, rich wine with lively aromas and a full, plump texture.

Tasting Comments

This beautifully complex wine showcases Anderson Valley's structured character.

It offers attractive aromas of maraschino cherries and blackberry compote, with subtle hints of sweet spices such as white pepper, cinnamon and cloves, as well as star anise and sea air.

In the mouth, opulent black and red berry flavors are framed by rich tannins and bright, balanced acidity.

Earthy minerals underpin the fruitiness, leading to a refined, rich finish.
