Fratelli Serio e Battista Borgogno is a prestigious winery that has been cultivating grapes and making wine in the Barolo hills since the end of the 19th century. They own about 4 hectares of vineyards, mainly in Cannubi. It was established in 1897 by founder Francesco Borgogno. He was an indispensable figure in the area, having served as mayor of Barolo for 30 years. He loved the area and its people so much that he founded the first kindergarten in Barolo. It was later handed over to Francesco's nephew Lodovigo, and his sons Serio and Battista. These two men contributed greatly to the development of Barolo and the cantina, so their names were used to name the cantina. Now, the cantina is run by Anna, her husband Marco, who manages everything from the fields to the winemaking, Anna's sister Paola, and Anna's two daughters Emanuela and Federica. They continue to innovate while firmly protecting the unchanging passion and traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation. They stick to the traditional winemaking method of fermenting in 50hl wooden barrels called Tini and aging in large oak barrels. They do not use barriques at all. They aim to continue to make high-quality, classically styled wines while firmly protecting their own character.
