Aged 22 months in barrels, 50% new barrels. Released after 1 year in bottle. Favia's new winery is located in Coombsville. This wine is from the home vineyard. Toasted bread, spices, licorice and mint give this structured wine a complex nuance. Full of energy, it has a sparkling appeal in the glass.
Since the fall of 2016, Favia's headquarters has been in Coombsville, where its own winery is located.
Favia has been using grapes from this region for over 15 years, and began making Cabernet Sauvignon exclusively from Coombsville grapes in the 2013 vintage, marking their sixth vintage.
Vintage Information
The 2019 VTG Coombsville has a rich, dark purple color and a rich, aromatic flavor. It has a typical black berry flavor, with layers of unique aromas such as Mexican morel (chocolate sauce), roasted meat, exotic herbs, and dark chocolate. The flavor is heavy, yet surprisingly balanced and elegant, with a velvety texture and cocoa powder-like tannins, and a long, lingering finish. It is very sophisticated, yet has a solid structure and a dense structure, so it will definitely age for many years to come.
