Since its establishment in 1978, Duckhorn has maintained a good relationship with growers for many years as an important vineyard for blending Cabernet Sauvignon into Napa Valley. The rich flavor of red fruits is full of umami, rich milk chocolate, and spicy nuances of "Rutherford Dust", and the finish is long and sensual.
Rutherford is home to some of Napa Valley's most legendary Cabernet Sauvignon and has played a key role in Duckhorn's Cabernet Sauvignon production. This Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford captures the essence of the appellation, with beautiful layers of blackberry, cassis and tobacco, as well as a characteristic earthy minerality known as "Rutherford Dust."
Vintage Information
2019 was another excellent vintage, producing wines of attractive luster and poise. The season began with a rainy winter followed by a mild spring. As a result, flowering occurred a little later than usual, but the summer weather was perfect and there were no major heat waves, allowing the flavors to ripen ideally. The white wines are complex and powerful, while the red wines have elegant tannins, attractive aromas, and a refined finish with beautiful fruitiness.
Tasting Comments
Rich aromas of raspberry, blackberry and blackcurrant. In the mouth, the rich flavor of red fruits is accompanied by umami and hints of rich milk chocolate. It is bordered by "Rutherford Dust" and smoothly leads to a long and sensual finish. This vintage is a perfect expression of Rutherford's Cabernet Sauvignon.
