The wine is grown in our own vineyards on southwest-facing slopes, from the magnificent mountaintops overlooking Alexander Valley to the Russian River benchlands. Aged for 22 months in French barrels (70% new). Aromas of cassis, ripe raspberries, nutmeg from the oak and coffee beans. The full-bodied taste is a beautiful blend of sweet tannins and lively dark fruit aromas, with the spices and sweetness from the new barrels.

Tasting Comments
Deep ruby in color, with aromas of black currant, ripe raspberry, oak, and spices such as nutmeg and coffee beans.
The taste is full-bodied.
The vibrant aroma of dark fruits such as blackberry and blackcurrant is beautifully balanced with the spice and sweetness provided by the high proportion of new oak.
With excellent tannin structure and acidity from the hillside vineyards, this wine will continue to evolve and mature over the next 10 to 20 years.
