Fermented and aged in French barrels for 10 months (40% new barrels). The name of the vineyard cannot be disclosed due to contract, but the grapes are from a top grower in Oakville, which is rare for Sauvignon Blanc. It has a refreshing and clean acidity and a smooth mouthfeel. The brioche and vanilla flavors from the barrel fermentation and aging attack, and the aroma of Meyer lemon, Japanese pear, white peach, lime leaves, and grapefruit peel is vivid. Fresh pear, pineapple, and sweet and sour citrus fruits spread throughout the mouth. The bottle is impressive.

Although the name of the vineyard cannot be disclosed due to contract, the grapes are selected from some of Napa Valley's finest growers in Oakville, which is rare for Sauvignon Blanc.

This is due to the owner's passion and the Atelier Merca connection.

Only about 100 cases produced.

Tasting Comments

In a word, the finish is "outstanding and one of a kind."

It has a refreshing and clean acidity and a smooth mouthfeel.

The attack is dominated by brioche and vanilla notes from 100% barrel fermentation and aging, with vibrant aromas of Meyer lemon, Japanese pear, white peach, lime leaf, and grapefruit peel.

The taste is juicy and fresh with flavours of pear, pineapple and sweet and sour citrus fruits, with the aroma of grapefruit lingering on for a long finish.

It tastes beautiful now, but also has structure and complexity that will allow it to be enjoyed elegantly in the future.
