Located in the true Pritchard Hill of the noted Pritchard Hills, next door to the Bryant Family. Melanson Vineyards makes its own wine but also supplies grapes to a very limited number of people. Prid-Walker receives a small amount of exceptional grapes from the Clone 7 plot. The grapes are very small. The ideal climate from bud to harvest produced the best grapes. Aged 20 months in French barrels (90% new barrels) Production 98 cases

Vintage Information

The 2019 vintage was a wonderful year for winemakers, just like the very good 2016. Despite a rainy winter, a warm spring, and several heat waves, the grapes were fully ripe, and the flavors of red soil and rock, which are characteristic of Pritchard Hill, were concentrated and distinctive, and we can expect rich, long-lasting grapes. The red fruit characteristics of Clone 337 stand out, and the concentration of Clone 7 adds an accent. "The yield is smaller than 2018, but it is more concentrated, and it is the best Melancon we have ever made," commented winemaker Thomas.

Technical information

Aged for 20 months in French barrels (D'Arnajou, Hermitage, Taranseau) (90% new oak), unfiltered, and bottled without artificial clarification.

Only 98 cases produced.

Field Information

Melanson Vineyards

Located in Pritchard Hill, south of Lake Hennessey in the mountains of Voca Mountain, east of St. Helena, the winery has many famous wineries with vineyards and wineries. Among them, the winery is located in the true Pritchard Hill, next door to the Bryant family. Melanson Vineyards also produces its own wine, but supplies grapes to a very limited number of people. At an altitude of 420m (above the fog), Prid-Walker receives a small amount of rare grapes from the Clone 7 and 337 plots. This is the power of coordination of Nancy Duckhorn.

The rocky soil, high altitude and cool hillside location of the vineyards result in very small sized grapes.
