The vineyard is custom tuned every year. 2019 is a blend of five vineyards. Mainly Oakville and Prichard Hill. Aged 30 months in French barrels (100% new barrels). A great impression from the first sip. Freshly taken vanilla beans, a bouquet of lilacs, gorgeous aromas of red and black berry boxes, espresso, cocoa nibs, wet tobacco leaves, and earthy nuances continue, with a modern wine style that has a beautiful balance of power and ripe fruit and a long finish. The tannins are surprisingly perfectly integrated at this young age.
Tasting Comments - Philippe Melka
Although it is Tusk's wine that he makes himself, the quality, dimension, texture and depth of the wine increases with each passing year.
The nose is full of complex aromas of violets, lavender, hints of sun-warmed rocks, ripe raspberries and plums.
It has velvety, smooth tannins and well-balanced acidity, and is full-bodied and powerful, with a long-lasting aftertaste that emanates an image of cocoa powder.
The perfectly ripe Cabernet Sauvignon has a powerful presence, is fragrant, and has a robust quality, with complex flavor elements intertwined.
Can be aged for decades.
We recommend decanting and serving at 16°C.
