The long-awaited Monte Antico Cru range, Supremus, was released in 2009. It is made only from grapes from vines over 25 years old in carefully selected fields in the Chianti Classico area, mainly in the Maremma. It has a higher ratio of Cabernet and Merlot than the standard Monte Antico, and is also aged in barrels for a longer period. This is the new birth of a great Tuscan wine by Franco Bernabei and Neil Empson.
