The red fruit (raspberry, etc.) and slight spice aroma create an exquisite balance. It is a light Rhone wine with a mineral feel.
COMMENT
Like Marcel Lapierre and Pierre Auvernoy, Texier has been producing terroir-focused "natural wines" since the 1990s.
We produce wine mainly from the Côtes du Rhône-Brézeme region, which is grown on a very small plot of land of around 23 hectares (we are currently in the process of negotiating with INAO to have it recognised as an independent AOC).
Sha (= cat) and Fu (= crazy) mean crazy cat. Texier had a cat that was very strange and thought it was human. As a homage to that cat, he named the wine Sha Fu.
WINEMAKING
Grapes from granite soils. Some white grapes are used to achieve balance. Fermented in concrete tanks and aged on lees for 12-18 months.
