Located at the northeastern end of Fronsac, it is in a good location where famous chateaux such as Chateau d'Alem and Haut Carles are crowded together. Founded in 1960. Currently run by Olivier Goujon, the third generation. He has been helping out at the winery since he was 12 years old and has grown up with winemaking, making him a winemaker with passion and enthusiasm for wine. The vineyards he owns have gentle slopes and the soil is limestone and clay formed by minerals from the rich river. "The soil is not suitable for Cabernet varieties. It produces excellent Merlot with attractive acidity," he says, and he makes wines that specialize in Merlot. In addition, he focuses on the environment and quality rather than yield, and cultivates using sustainable farming methods. Since he does not use a chemical approach, there is a high risk of disease, but he says, "It is important to respect the ecosystem and not take too much effort." He performs night harvests, thoroughly controls the temperature of the harvested grapes, and spares no effort. Fermentation takes place in custom-made cement tanks. The cement tanks, with their chimney-like vents at the top, allow the removal of oxygen generated during maceration and fermentation, protecting the must from oxygen and producing the ideal wine, fresh and fruity.
